ANDREA VALENTINI HANDBAGS (CLADIN) by ELIZABETH DAY LAWRENCE

Posted by Andrea Valentini on

Andrea Valentini is simply my handbag Design Treasure.   Born and raised in RI; educated where she now educates at RISD; she's an entrepreneur, textile innovator, and she's the designer and manufacturer of my ideal handbag.

When it comes to an everyday handbag, I am all about practicality.  For me, there is no temptation from a designer label or even the smell of leather.  A handbag is something that I use and yes, even abuse, because in my life I don't have time for a sissy girl purse. It needs to scream function.  It has to withstand everything mother nature has to throw at it: rain, snow, mud...whatever, because if the weather doesn't hold me down, neither should my handbag.  And here's the catch:  it has to be beautifully designed with an architectural sensibility.  The search for such a handbag has taken all my adult years and not until now did I find the perfect bag from the Andrea Valentini Collection The Meme Maxi Tote.

Here are the Pros

Made from a proprietary, high performance molded textile fabric

Made in the USA.

Water repellent

Stain resistant

Washable

Lightweight

Detachable and adjustable shoulder strap and handle

Inside zip and multifunctional pockets

Red cordura nylon lining

Open top with magnetic snap closure and expandable snap sides

The look of designer handbag without the designer price

Here are the Cons:

Oops, there are none.

And if you need a perfect little cross body or wristlet, she makes those too.  Oh yeah, and a tech bag for your computer and a mini bag for your makeup or for whatever other littles you need to put in one place so you can stuff them into your new favorite handbag...which is expandable.  This part helps with the stuffing.

To top this all off, in addition to black, it comes in other great fashion colors that will have no trouble at all fitting into your wardrobe.

I need the basic black one, red, of course, and the silver one for when I am hopping on the back of a motorcycle.

You?
